Iran's embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that it is consulting with the Azeri authorities to smoothing traffic flow in the Astara border crossing.

Iran Press/Asia: The increase of the export of Iranian fruits and other agricultural products and its transit into the Republic of Azerbaijan via the Astara border in recent days by observing health protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic has created heavy traffic.

170 to 180 Iranian trucks enter the Republic of Azerbaijan every day to transit to Russia through the Astara and Bilasuvar borders.

As a result of follow-ups and negotiations with the relevant authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia, it was decided that in the coming days and with the acceptance of more trucks by Russia, the Customs of the Republic of Azerbaijan will receive more trucks from Iran at the Astara and Bilasuvar border crossings.

After the Islamic Republic of Iran joined the Eurasian Economic Union, Iran's exports to member countries have increased significantly.
