Iran Press/ Iran News: Brigadier General Alireza Elhami said that when the threats of the enemies increase, the Islamic Republic of Iran will definitely increase its defense power to protect the borders.
The Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Force of the Iranian Army added about the joint specialized air defense exercise 'Modafean Aseman Velayat 99’ (The Defenders of Velayat Skies) that in this drill, for the first time, no foreign equipment and systems were used and all equipment was domestic.
Brigadier General Elhami stated that a new generation of indigenous equipment and weapons in various ranges will be used and evaluated in this exercise, adding that in the field of missiles, "Bavar 373" missile defense system will be used in this exercise for the first time.
The specialized air defense exercise 'Modafean Aseman Velayat 99' (The Defenders of Velayat Skies) has started jointly between the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps and the Iranian Army under the operational guidance and control of the Iranian Air Defense Force since yesterday (Wednesday) in an area more than half of Iran.
