Tehran (IP) - The newly appointed Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia has stated that the recent agreement between Tehran and Riyadh signifies a shift in the dynamics of security in the Persian Gulf.

Iran PressIran news: According to Alireza Enayati, in the new order of the Persian Gulf, security has moved from military-oriented to development-oriented, and the concept of security is more endogenous.

Enayati further emphasized that the Tehran-Riyadh relationship holds significant implications for peace, stability, independence, and fostering a culture of dialogue within the region.

He believes that this agreement will not only benefit Iran and Saudi Arabia but also other countries within and outside of the region.

After severing diplomatic ties in 2016, Iran and Saudi Arabia have finally reached an agreement to resume diplomatic relations. The negotiations, which spanned over two years and were mediated by Iraq and Oman, concluded on March 10, 2023. Following several days of talks between officials from both countries in Beijing, they jointly announced their decision to normalize relations.
