Tehran (IP) - Head of Iran's Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) Mohammad Reza Shanehsaz said that all medicines used to cure the COVID19 patients are produced inside and Iranian producers are able to meet our needs.

Iran PressIran News: In response to Iran Press in a live press conference, Head of Iran's Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) Shanehsaz said: "Three medicines have been approved by the scientific committee which is ample in Iran to be produced. They just help but cannot be definite to cure the disease."

" Prednisolone, Azithromycin, and Hydroxychloroquine are the medicines produced in Iran for a long time and they can help to cure the COVID19 process," he added.

Head of IFDA on Favipiravir, and Remdesivir said these two medicines are produced in Iran and their usage and effectiveness depend on the approval of the Clinical Studies Committee to check the safety and effectiveness of them as long as some of them may be Teratogenic.

A teratogen is an agent that can disturb the development of the embryo or fetus, so their usage and dispense must be ensured.

While many countries try to sanction Iran, by depending on its people and national producers, this country is able to provide and meets its needs, Shanesaz added.

Shanesaz highlighted that there is no official source in the world to declare a definite medicine for COVID-19, all medicines are under test and trial.
