Iran stresses Tokyo disregard for Washington sanctions on Tehran

The Iranian Embassy in Japan called for Tokyo’s ignoring the US sanctions against Tehran, stressing boosting bilateral economic ties.

Iran Press/Asia: The Iranian embassy in Japan said in a tweet on Friday that amid its hard campaign against Coronavirus, Iran expects Japan to maintain normal economic exchange between the two countries as a sign of the long-standing solidarity and friendship between Iran and Japan.

Earlier on Wednesday, March 24, Iran’s ambassador to Japan Morteza Rahmani Movahed had stated said at the Japan National Press Club (JNPC), in Tokyo that the international community including Japan must disregard the US sanctions threatening the Iranian people and even the world’s health, and provide Iran with access to medical supplies against the novel Coronavirus.

Stressing that the US hostility toward Iran’s nation has entered a new phase of health terrorism, Rahmani Movahed had said that the rights to access hygiene and the right to live are among the significant issues of human rights and that exerting any limit in this regard would violate the related principle.

The Iranian embassy in Japan had earlier praised Tokyo for providing more than $ 23 million in medical assistance to counter the spread of the Coronavirus in Iran.
