Shahrekord (IP) - Historical and tourist attraction sites in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in southwest of Iran, including its historic castles, are being disinfected with the aim of combating the coronavirus and safeguarding the health of Nowruz travelers and tourists.

Iran PressIran news: The historic castles of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, unique in their beauty and architecture, welcome thousands of tourists every year, including Dezzak Castel.

Dezzak Castel is located in a village called Dezzak, 35 km from Shahr-e Kord and is one of the most impressive historical sites of Iran's Constitutional Revolution era (late Qajar period).

Dezzak Castel, which was home to famed Iranian writer, poet, and literary figure, Ali Akbar Dehkhoda for a while, is being disinfected, like other historical sites in the province, with the aim of combating coronavirus and protecting the health of visitors and tourists during Nowruz.

Nowruz is the Iranian New Year also known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by various ethnolinguistic groups.

It usually occurs on 20 or 21 March, depending on where it is observed. The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year, and families gather together to observe Nowruz (New Year) rituals.

While Nowruz has been celebrated since the reform of the Iranian Calendar in the 11th Century CE to mark the new year, the United Nations officially recognized the "International Day of Nowruz" with the adoption of a UN resolution in 2010.

The Constitutional Revolution of Iran took place between 1905 and 1911 and led to the establishment of a parliament in Iran during the Qajar dynasty.
