Tehran (IP) - Speaking at a meeting with the Qatari Foreign Minister, Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stressed that the assassination of the officials has no other name but state-sponsored terrorism.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al -Thani on  Saturday, January 4.

Referring to the assassination and martyrdom of the Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, commander of Qods Forces and Iraqi military official Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, Larijani added, " They were not ordinary citizens, they were Iranian and Iraqi officials who were assassinated by the US regime at Baghdad International Airport. Is this not state-sponsored terrorism?"

The Parliament speaker further noted, "Iran has brave and distinguished generals who will replace martyr Suleimani and will continue his path, as in the past the assassination of the great figures of the Islamic Revolution could not prevent the Iranian nation to move forward."

In return, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al -Thani emphasized, "I have come to Iran to show that we are with you under any circumstances and hope that the regional affairs will be resolved as soon as possible. "We hope that constructive relations between Qatar, Iran and other neighboring countries will improve the future of the region," he said.

Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on Saturday, arrived on Tehran and met Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and President Rouhani later on the day. 101/211/205
