UK FM: urges all parties to de-escalate after US assassinating Lte. Gen Soleimani

The UK Foreign Minister Dominic Raab has urged “all parties to de-escalate” after a US airstrike martyred Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani.

He also in his statement said: "further conflict is in none of our interests."

Martyr Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Lieutenant General Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Lieutenant General Soleimani has been named in the list of top Global Thinkers in the defense and security in Foreign Policy (FP)’s 2019.
