Iran Press/Iran news: In further comments, Kamalvandi said the Fordow site will reach its full capacity for uranium enrichment in the coming weeks and months. He added: "Already we have reached 90 percent of our pre-JCPOA enrichment capacity, and we are also testing our brand new advanced centrifuges -- various types of centrifuges."
Kamalvandi also talked about cascades of new advanced centrifuges currently being tested and said the cascades are functioning very well, and Iran's stockpiles of enriched uranium are increasing on a daily basis, Iran Press reported.
Commenting further, Kamalvandi said Iran's civilian nuclear industry is active and well, and performing excellently. He pointedly added: "The foundations have been laid for a new electricity-generating nuclear power plant which will become fully operational in about five years time."
Commenting on Iran blocking an official from the International Atomic Energy Agency from visiting the nuclear site at Natanz, after the inspector tested positive for traces of dangerous substances, Kamalvandi said the IAEA inspector will never again be allowed to enter the Natanz nuclear facility.
Kamalvandi also talked about the 3S (Safeguards, Safety, Security) emphasizing that Iran takes the three S very seriously, particularly the issues of safeguards, safety, and security at all of Iran's nuclear facilities.
Commenting on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Kamalvandi said we proceed step-by-step and we make decisions as and when necessary. He added "So far, we have taken four successive steps pulling back steadily from the nuclear deal, but if other signatories honor their commitments under the JCPOA, all of Iran's steps are reversible and Iran can also fully honor its commitments under the nuclear deal. We hope that other parties to the nuclear agreement fully implement their part of the bargain, and we are ready to implement ours."
Asked about operating cascades of new advanced centrifuges, Behrouz Kamalvandi said whether these cascades are operated or not depends on both technical and political considerations. "The decision to operate these cascades is essentially a political one", he said. 101/211
