Iran Press/ America: The dust storm, which is the first product of the construction of the Dam of Turkiye, has affected the skies of some of Iran's western neighbors in recent days, including Syria, Iraq and Jordan.
According to a map of fine dust on the Barcelona World Site, the recent dust mass first covered large parts of Iraq and Syria and then entered Iran.
Sandstorms and dust storms also killed scores of people in some parts of Syria and Iraq, and thousands were rushed to hospitals for respiratory problems.
In Iran, some cities were closed due to dust.
In this regard, and according to Iran Press on Thursday, Majid Takht Ravanchi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, at the annual meeting of the Executive Board of the United Nations Development Program, said that the widespread conflict between West Asia and the Persian Gulf countries pointed to dust and sandstorms in the area and added:
"Meeting this challenge requires a comprehensive and coordinated approach between affected countries and other countries, specialized organizations and international financial institutions that can help solve this problem."
Takht-e Ravanchi called on the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to assist countries in the region in countering this vast challenge.
Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations also pointed to the shortage of food and energy and their rising prices in the world and said: "The current food, health and financial crises, as well as conflicts and unilateral actions, have hindered the progress and development of countries."
