Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said that Iran has suspended its obligation, not revoked them and our next set of actions depends upon the other side's behavior.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Monday, the spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi has emphasized that Iran's recent action is suspending its obligations and not revoking them, the next move from Iran depends upon the other side's behavior.

"As we have mentioned already and we say again, we are expecting them to implement their commitments a.s.a.p. of course we have decided to start with two actions and consequently, there will be two other actions if they will not take proper action from their side, especially to implement their commitments," he said, adding that "So, we are waiting to see these two acts we have already mentioned to suspend temporarily stocks of 3.67 L.E.U. (Low Enriched Uranium) inside the country, it means that we are going above that level. They have started from today and surpass the level of 300 kilograms."

Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization continued that "We have also said that we will not accept it as a commitment to deliver heavy water above 130 tones to the international markets, this is another action and after 60 days, if they don’t implement their commitments, there will be another set of actions."

Kamalvandi said: "As mentioned, we are going to surpass the level of our enrichment to above and of course to rethink about heavy water reactor. Already, we are working on two options in our organization: one option is to modernize the reactor and the other one is to go back to the older model of the reactor and if it is important for them, which I think it is, they do not have enough time. We urged them to quickly do whatever necessary to compensate for the situation to bring back the balance between the commitments and obligations."

"When asked about whether Iran considers redesigning of the research reactor in Arak or not," Kamalvandi noted and said: "As I mentioned before, we are working on two options, as we have said, we are suspending the commitments, not revoking or removing them.  This means that we have an old reactor in one hand and working on a new reactor on the other hand. We do prefer to modernize the reactor and this is something that they would like to see, it depends on their behavior and their deeds, not their words".  212/ 104
