Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that the US policy towards Iran is confusing.

Iran PressIran news: "US President Donald Trump, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and US National security adviser John Bolton's remarks are all contradicted with one another," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Monday.

Criticising Americans' illegal withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said that the US unfaithfulness is not limited to the current administration.

"From the beginning of JCPOA creation, the US has started its unfaithfulness and the country even sometimes violated the nuclear agreement," Mousavi noted.

"As the Americans were in JCPOA, the doors of having a dialogue with Iran in the framework of JCPOA commissions were opened. After Donald Trump's administration came to power the Americans made a wrong analysis and miscalculation regarding their withdrawal of the agreement," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added.

"Some spiteful and counterrevolutionary people who live in abroad gave wrong advice to Americans about Iran's vulnerability by US withdrawal from JCPOA. Considering this miscalculation, the US withdrew from the agreement and the country lost the game to Iran politically, ethically and legally," Mousavi said.

"The US become isolated in the world after its withdrawal from the JCPOA, and Americans did their best to make other countries to withdraw from the agreement. They also wished for Iran's hasty and nervous reaction but Iranians by following a reasonable approach made the Americans disappointed," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted.

"I suppose that the US close allies' disagreement with the country toward Iran is a big achievement for the Islamic republic," Mousavi noted.

Answering a question about Pompeo's reaction to the successful visit of Zarif to the US, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the US has succumbed to a confusing policy during the Trump's administration and it is not clear who is the decision-maker in the US.

Talking about the difficulty of the transactions between Iran and foreign companies for importing food and drugs to the country, Mousavi dismissed the claims that the items are not included in the sanctions.

Mousavi said that the companies are afraid of the US economic terrorism against Iran and they do not export food and drugs to the country, so practically these items are included in sanctions imposed on Iran despite its illegality. 201/211/207
