U.S.-led coalition aircraft violated Syrian airspace in the al-Tanf area 16 times over the past day, according to Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Parties in Syria, a division of the Russian defense ministry.

Iran PressEurope: "Inevitably, the aircraft of the so-called international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States continue to create dangerous situations that may lead to air accidents or incidents, escalating tensions in Syria's airspace," Ignasyuk stated.

The violations involved a pair of F-15s, which made five incursions, and a pair of F-16s, Rafale fighter jets, and A-10 Thunderbolt attack bombers.

In addition to these incursions, Ignasyuk reported five violations of deconfliction protocols established on December 9, 2019, related to flights by unmanned aerial vehicles operated by the U.S.-led coalition.

The ongoing incursions have raised concerns about potential dangerous encounters in the region. Ignasyuk warned that these actions could exacerbate tensions and further complications in an already volatile situation.

The al-Tanf area is strategically significant, along key international air routes. The recent increase in airspace violations underscores the complexities and risks associated with military operations in Syria, where various factions are vying for control amid ongoing conflict.
