Iran Foreign Ministry

Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly denied claims that it had negotiated with the United States in Oman.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly rejected in a statement the news that it had negotiated with the United States in Oman, saying the ministry will not go beyond the command of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in dealing with the US government.

Iran's Foreign Ministry also strongly dismissed the new claims made by Javad Karimi Ghodoosi, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Parliament, that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is willing and has tried and taken measures to engage in talks with the US government in one neighboring country, Mehr News Agency reported.

"Foreign ministry, at all levels of management and expertise, acts according to the instructions and guidelines of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in particular as to the ways of talks with the United States," the statement reads.

In an interview on Friday, Karimi Ghodoosi said "despite the prohibition of the Leader, I have got news from reliable sources that foreign ministry experts in Oman are negotiating with their American counterparts."

"Oman has become a private place for American and British officials to get access to Iran," claimed the member of the National Security Commission.

The Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said before that there is no difference between pre and post-Trump Iran, but the US president lacks required knowledge and awareness about the Islamic Republic, the Middle East region, its' circumstances, history and characteristics of its people, as well as recent regional developments.
