Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said in response to his French counterpart that as long as the Europe remain committed to JCPOA, Iran does the same.

Iran Press/Iran news: "We will fulfil our commitments under the JCPOA exactly in the same way you do," he reiterated.

Responding to Tehran’s announcement that it will boost the enrichment level of its uranium, French foreign ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll said Iran will gain nothing by departing from the terms of its nuclear agreement, reported Iran Press.

“Putting it (the deal) into question will only increase the already heightened tensions in the region," she said.

That’s why France with its European partners have asked strongly that Iran reverse the excess enrichment without delay and refrain from further measures that undermine its nuclear commitments, Von der Muhll said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani earlier said Iran would raise its uranium enrichment after 7 July to whatever levels it needs beyond the 3.67% purity cap set in the 2015 nuclear deal.

Last Monday Iran announced that it had amassed more low-enriched uranium than was agreed in the 2015 nuclear deal.

Iran passed the enriched uranium limit mentioned in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) after the remaining signatories to the pact failed to meet Tehran’s demand that Iran be shielded from US sanctions.203
