West Asia (IP) - The Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, denounced the adoption of the resolution proposed by the United States against Yemen's Ansarullah in the UN Security Council and called it a green light for the continuation of the genocide by the occupiers.

Iran Press/ West Asia: The Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine, while condemning the adoption of the resolution proposed by the United States against Yemen's Ansarullah in the UN Security Council, emphasized that the adoption of this resolution without an order to stop the killings of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip is a green light for the continuation of the genocide by the occupiers.

According to Iran press, the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine issued a statement on Thursday and emphasized: "We strongly condemn the unjust resolution of the Security Council, in which our brothers in Yemen's Ansarullah were asked to end the so-called attack on ships in the Red Sea."

This movement noted: "This resolution was approved while the Zionist aggression against citizens and civil centers in Gaza continues, and the issuance of this ruling without asking the Nazi occupying regime to stop its killings, withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, allowing the entry of raw materials without destroying the work, which is the goal of our brothers in the Ansarullah movement, is a green light for the continuation of the genocide and as a partnership with the Zionists in this war."

Elsewhere, Islamic Jihad emphasized: This resolution serves as evidence that the Security Council is one of the tools of the great powers to falsify the facts, legitimize the crime of the West, and put pressure on the people who defend their rights.

Sami Abu Zuhairi, one of the leaders of Hamas, also emphasized in response to this action of the UN Security Council: "The resolution of the United Nations Security Council against Yemen's attacks in the Red Sea shows their double standards, because they support the occupiers and the entry of ships into the territories. It guarantees the occupation but ignores the Zionist genocide against the people of Gaza."

In the meeting of the United Nations Security Council which was held on Wednesday evening on January 10, 2024, and January 20 of this month, this resolution with number 2722 received 11 votes in favor of 15 members of the Security Council.

This voting was done without any opposition and four members of the Security Council, including Russia, China and Algeria, abstained. Russia and China did not use their veto rights.

Before voting on the resolution proposed by America and Japan, a vote was taken on the amendments that Russia proposed in this regard, but Moscow's three amendments did not get the necessary votes, and in all three votes, US and Britain opposed them and vetoed the amendments.

The resolution of the UN Security Council has asked Yemen's Ansarullah to stop attacks on commercial cargoes and shipping lines.

The resolution also calls for the immediate release of the Galaxy Leader cargo ship, which, although operating under the supervision of a Japanese company, is primarily operated by an Israeli company. This ship has been in the possession of Yemen's Ansarullah since November 19.

This resolution calls for restraint to prevent the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea and the region and calls on all parties to strengthen diplomatic efforts to end the crisis, including supporting dialogue and the Yemeni peace process.

The US, as the main supporter of the Israeli regime in the current war against Gaza, had previously claimed to form a coalition to counter the operations of the Yemeni army in the Red Sea, before the first meeting of the Security Council.
