Tehran(IP)- Speaker of the Parliament said on Tuesday before heading to Uzbekistan that the emphasis is to develop relations between Iran and Uzbekistan in the parliamentary, economic, commercial, political, and cultural fields.

Iran PressIran News: According to the Iran press news agency, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, said before leaving for Uzbekistan this Tuesday evening (July 21):

" I am traveling to this country at the official invitation of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

He added: "Our emphasis is to develop relations between Iran and Uzbekistan in the parliamentary, economic, commercial, political, and cultural fields."

He further explained that Iran and Uzbekistan are geographically very close to each other, but their relations have not developed as expected.

The speaker of the parliament said: "We will have meetings with the officials of Uzbekistan, including the president and heads of the parliaments of Uzbekistan."
