According to an official statement IRGC, the hostile aircraft was struck at 3:45 a.m. local time in central Iran using advanced indigenous air defense systems.
The IRGC noted that over the past three weeks, Iranian air defense units have successfully intercepted and destroyed more than 200 hostile aerial targets, including drones, cruise missiles, refueling aircraft, and advanced fighter jets.
Officials described this as evidence of Iran’s growing capability to track and intercept aggressors in the region’s skies, as well as the strengthening of the country’s air defense shield.
An informed source told the media that while the jet sustained severe damage from the missile, it managed to exit Iranian airspace before either crashing or making an emergency landing in a neighboring country.
The source further stated that there is no precise information yet on the fate of the aircraft or its pilot, and dismissed Israeli claims that the jet remained undamaged as “completely false.”
