Iran's foreign minister, at a meeting with the Lebanese president, expressed hope that a stable condition is maintained in Lebanon's political space, with the cooperation of all political parties in the country.

Iran Press/Middle East: Meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Friday in Beirut, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed the Iranian nation and government's sympathy and solidarity with the Lebanese nation and government.

Zarif said Lebanon's victory in the 33-day Israeli war is a sign of the Lebanese people overcoming hardships and successfully passing through the current problems.

Iran is ready to continue to help Lebanon, Zarif said.

Michel Aoun for his part appreciated Iran's solidarity with Lebanon over the explosion of Beirut port.   

Zarif, who is in Beirut, also met with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe, and Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
