Hundreds of people demonstrated in occupied al-Quds on Saturday night in protest of the martyrdom of a mentally retarded Palestinian youth by Israeli forces.

Iran PressMiddle East: Palestinian protesters condemned the Israeli violence by holding placards that read, "Palestinian life is important," "Being Palestinian is not a crime," and "Justice for Ayad."

On Saturday morning, Israeli forces shot and killed a young Palestinian man, Ayad al-Halaq, in the Bab al-Asbat area of the old part of occupied al-Quds.

While admitting to shooting at the mentally retarded young man, the Zionist regime has stated that it has finally been determined that the Palestinian youth did not carry any weapons with him.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Saturday condemning the move, saying that the Zionist regime directly had ordered the occupying forces to murder Palestinians.

A statement from the Palestinian Authority said: "The killing of two young Palestinians in the West Bank and in al-Quds shows the depth of racism in decision-making circles and the body of the occupying regime."
