Rome (IP) - Italians rallied to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Nakba in Rome, Italy.

Iran PressEurope: A number of Palestinians living in Italy along with Italians rallied on Saturday evening and condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinians.

Demonstrators carried banners with anti-Zionist themes such as "Land and freedom for the Palestinians; End the occupation", "We are anti-Zionist and not anti-Semitic" and "Boycott, non-investment in Israel is not anti-Semitism, but resistance".

Criticizing the silence of human rights advocates and Western media against the Zionist regime's crimes, speakers in the rally demanded the return of the Palestinian refugees to their lands.

Head of the Beyond the Sea Community Patrizia Ceccone, in an interview with an IranPress reporter in Rome, said: "We are here on the occasion of the anniversary of the Nakba Day which means the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians by the Israeli regime, a reality that continues every day in occupied Palestine."

Ceccone added that biased media do not inform the public about the crimes of the Israeli regime.

She said: "Instead of condemning Israeli attacks, some Italian Parliament members criticize the Palestinians for firing rockets at the Israelis, while the Palestinians are only defending themselves."

Nakba Day is the anniversary of the occupation of Palestine and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in 1948.

According to the latest report of the International Organization for the Defense of Palestinian Children (DCIP), the number of children killed by the Zionist regime in the West Bank, and Gaza Strip since the beginning of this year has reached 24.
