Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Bagher Mohammadi, director of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Field Hospital in Beirut, on Friday, referring to the provision of various health services to 3,500 patients and injured people of different nationalities in the past 17 days, said: "To date, several kinds of surgeries have been performed by Iranian physicians present at the field hospital."
Mohammadi reminded: "The activity of Iran Rapid Deployment Field Hospital (RDH) started in Beirut when half of the hospitals in this city were severely damaged and were unable to provide services in the recent incident."
Iran was the first country whose Red Crescent, after announcing its readiness sent immediate help to Lebanon including medical and food aid, medical team to help the injured including general practitioners, orthopedists, anesthesiologists, operation rooms, pediatricians, neurologists, nurses, surgical technologist.
On August 4, a massive explosion took place in a nearby warehouse in the port of Beirut, containing 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate, following a massive fire in a warehouse that stored flammable stuff.
At least 175 people have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the blast, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to establishing a field hospital in Beirut, has so far sent 95 tons of various food and health items to Lebanon.
