Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, emphasized the commitment of Iran's 14th government to continuous engagement and consultation with the eight countries bordering the Persian Gulf.

Iran PressIran news:  Speaking at a joint meeting with the heads of missions of these Persian Gulf countries in Tehran on Sunday, September 15, 2024, Takht-Ravanchi underlined the Iranian government's special focus on enhancing relations with its neighbors, particularly the Persian Gulf states.

He highlighted that plans are being developed to further strengthen ties in all areas of mutual interest.

Referring to the recent visit of the Iranian President to Iraq, Takht-Ravanchi reiterated the government's determination to maintain regular interactions with the eight Persian Gulf nations."The geographical proximity and shared interests among the eight Persian Gulf states create a conducive environment for dialogue and consultation," he said, stressing the necessity of continued cooperation on shared concerns.

He further pointed out common areas of interest, including economic cooperation, transit, environmental issues, maritime activities, combating drug trafficking, and coastal security. He noted that the perspectives of all regional countries are aligned on these matters and reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to bolster cooperation through exchanges, discussions, and ongoing engagement.

At the conclusion of the meeting, several Persian Gulf state representatives expressed their views, underscoring the importance of dialogue among the region's nations.
