Iranian former envoy to Iraq, Hassan Danaeifar

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s former envoy to Iraq has said that every prime minister who comes to power in Iraq insists on setting relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and having sincere ties with the country.

Iran PressIran News: Hassan Danaeifar emphasized that following the attacks of ISIS terrorist group against Iraq and Iran’s help to Baghdad in the fight against the terrorists, Iran's situation became much better than before in Iraq.

Danaeifar referred to the US efforts to cut off Iran's hand from Iraq in various ways and said that Washington has done investigations to find ways to reduce Iraq's ties with Iran.

He noted that the withdrawal of the US troops from Iraq is one of the major challenges ahead of the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi.

Regarding the current trade situation between Iran and Iraq amid the Coronavirus outbreak, he said that Iran and Iraq trade is not bad in the current situation, with Iran has been ranked first or second along with countries such as China and Turkey for several years in having trade ties with Iraq.

"Today, the biggest destination of our manufactured and final goods in Iraq, and we do not export raw materials to the country, but we export the final products," he added.

Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi on July 21 on a trip to Iran met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and other Iranian high ranking officials as well as Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that what is very important for the Islamic Republic of Iran in bilateral relations is interests, security, dignity, regional authority and the improvement of the situation in Iraq.
