1,148 of the new patients were hospitalized, Lari said.
Fortunately, 198,949 patients have recovered and discharged so far, she said.
The Spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 148 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 11,408."
The official stated: "3,136 patients are in intensive care units."
"So far, around 1,769,520 COVID-19 diagnostic tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.
According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, East and West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan, Bushehr, Khorasan Razavi, and Ilam are in a critical situation (Red Status).
The provinces of Tehran, Fars, Isfahan, Mazandaran, Hamadan, Zanjan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Alborz, and Lorestan are on alert.
The total number of people who have been infected with COVID-19 in the world has exceeded 11 million, 60% of which were infected in the past month, according to the World Health Organization.
