Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for the Health Ministry in her daily presser on Wednesday said that at least 230,000 people in the country have definitely been infected with the coronavirus, and more than 191,000 of total infected people have recovered.

Iran PressIran news: Sima Sadat Lari on Wednesday about the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus, said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 1 in the country 2,549 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed so the number of patients with this disease reached to 230,211."

1,621 people of the newly infected cases were hospitalized, she added

Fortunately, 191,478 patients have recovered and discharged so far, Lari added.

The Spokeswoman said, " Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours,141 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, thus 10,958 people have lost their lives in total."

The official stated, " 3081 patients are in intensive care units at the moment."

So far, around 1,693,242 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, and Kermanshah, East and West Azerbaijan, and Khorasan Razavi are in Red zones. 

Zanjan, Esfahan, Kerman, North Khorasan Razavi, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province are on alert.

The number of hospitalized patients have been increased in Tehran Province.
