Kish (IP) -The head of the Iranian Food and Drug Administration said the use of corticosteroids was one of the findings of Iranian researchers in the first days of the coronavirus outbreak, which looks promising as a future cure for the disease.

Iran Press/Iran news: Talking about the latest Iranian research on COVID-19 disease in an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Mohammadreza Shanehsaz said there is no accepted medical treatment and cure for the coronavirus disease as yet, but promising research and clinical studies carried out in Iran bode well for the future, and have provided encouraging results.

Adding corticosteroids is one of the findings of Iranian researchers to treat the virus, the head of Iran's Food and Drug Administration said the effectiveness of "dexamethasone" to cure coronavirus patients has made headlines around the world.

He stated that since the first few weeks of the outbreak, the Iranian Scientific Committee included a corticosteroid in medication regimen of Covid-19 patients, which was effective in treating the virus, but many scientific communities abroad took a surprising look at this Iranian choice of medication.

To produce the coronavirus vaccine, Shanesaz added along with the world, Iran has been working on production of a Coronavirus vaccine since the early months of the outbreak, even sometimes overtaking various advanced nations in this field.
