Tehran (IP) - The director-general of the Ministry of Health's Office of Nutrition Improvement said there is no problem with fast nutrition principles even in coronavirus and it helps the immune system to prevent coronavirus.

Iran Press/Iran News: Zahra Abdullahi said at a news conference held on Sunday at the Ministry of Health that a group of people that are healthy and not infected with the coronavirus, can fast provided they follow the nutritional tips in the breakfast and Iftar meals. They should also eat fruits and liquids from iftar to dawn.

The official stated, "It is not recommended for those who are infected with the coronavirus to fast. Some people have also been infected and have now recovered, but because they are more likely to return within six weeks of recovery, they are advised not to fast, according to infectious disease experts."

The other group is people who have underlying diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and these people must also consult a doctor.
