Iran Press/ Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday on the sidelines of the parliament open session, Mojtaba Zonnoor referring the fifth scale-back measures to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), said that Iran is voluntarily implementing the Additional Protocol, and if the US does continue its evil behavior, Iran will leave the Protocol as well as Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT.
Zonnoor said that the fifth step was the aggregation of the previous four steps gradually scaling back Iran's commitment to the JCPOA under the deal, taken in response to the US recent crime of assassinating the popular commander Lt. General Soleimani and a number of his companions, including the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
He said that in the fifth step, Iran will enrich uranium and manufacture new centrifuges proportionate to its needs and interests for peaceful uses.
The head of the parliament national security commission noted: "With the fifth step, Iran put aside all of the JCPOA limitations except one which is the cancellation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections.
"We accepted the Additional Protocol according to the JCPOA and are voluntarily implementing it; we have stayed in the limitation and not reduced our cooperation with the IAEA," Zonnoor said.
