Iran Press /Iran news: Addressing the people of Qom on Wednesday, Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed, "An American official recently said in a gathering with some terrorists and ruffians that he hoped he would celebrate the 2019 Christmas in Tehran. The 2019 Christmas was some days ago. Some American politicians pretend they are insane, which I do not agree of course; however, they are number one fools."
According to Iran Press, the Leader was referring to comments by US National Security Advisor John Bolton, a long-time regime change advocate, who often speaks at gatherings of the anti-Iran MKO terrorist outfit.
“Before 2019, we here will celebrate in Tehran,” Bolton told an MKO meeting in July 2017.
Ayatollah Khamenei added, "On December 31, 1977, the US president came to Tehran, and had a spectacular speech, falsely admiring Muhammad-Reza Shah. In this speech, he said Iran was the island of stability, which meant the US had no worries with respect to the submissive regime in Iran. Barely ten days after this speech, the people of Qom rose up against the dependent regime and fought with no fear of death. Then, the people of Tabriz rose up and caused a great movement, and the following movements put an end to the dependent regime."
"This is how the US estimates the situations; the Americans are proud of their calculative analysis and foresight. Here also some individuals who are under the influence of the West boast about the power of the US," the leader said.
Leader said the Americans speak gleefully of “strongest sanctions in history” against Iran, “but the Iranian nation will, God willing, make them suffer an unprecedented defeat in history.”
“The nation and authorities should attentively work to turn the American sanctions into an unprecedented defeat for the Great Satan (the US), as was done during the era of Sacred Defense (the eight-year Iraq-imposed war),” said the Leader.
Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received thousands of people from Qom province, on the anniversary of people of Qom's January 9, 1978 uprising which was in response to an article published in Ettela'at newspaper, insulting the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini. 101/201
