Tehran (IP) - The Government Spokesman said the French company was fined to pay $1.5 million in damages to Iran by the virtue of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Iran PressIran news: In response to Iran Press' question over the France gas company, Ali Bahadori-Jahromi said that the International Court of Arbitration, while rejecting the claim of the French gas company for $27 million, fined the company pays 1.5 million dollars of damages to Iran.

Ali Bahadori-Jahromi told IP in his weekly press conference on Tuesday: "The pursuit of an Iranian lawyer in the success of the arbitration of this case shows the need to strengthen the role of the domestic legal community in international authorities to realize the rights of the Iranian people."

Bahadori-Jahromi also said: "This was a lawsuit the addressing of which lasted for several years. $ 27 million was the claim of the French company and the claim of Iran was 13 million dollars. The output of this arbitration was a verdict issued in favor of our country, which resulted in the rejection of their [French Company] claimed amount of money, and a total of 1.5 million final payments will be made to Iran."

He also addressed the spending of the frozen resources, which have been released, saying: "As previously announced, the government has taken steps to neutralize the sanctions, including the release of some blocked resources." 

"The government will not neglect the interests of the people. These resources are spent in various sectors and with the priority the Leader of the Islamic Revolution determined, and some are spent to liquidate the debts of the government remained from the past and budget deficits."

He added the employment projects to the spending framework. 

Referring to some countries' normalization of ties with the Israeli regime, the Iranian spokesman said: "Some Arab-Islamic countries' normalization of ties has strengthened the Zionist repression. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has had contacts with Hamas and consultations with the foreign ministers of some Islamic countries."

With regard to the implementation of the Iran-China 25-year plan, he stressed that the implementation of the comprehensive program of cooperation was officially started last year and has nothing to do with the Vienna talks.

Saeed Khatibzadeh, Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had earlier said that the logic behind the 25-year Iran-China Cooperation Agreement is to create a roadmap between Iran and China and promote relations to a comprehensive and strategic partnership between the two countries.
