Iran Press/Europe: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in England stated that the British police have committed to prosecute violence against Iranian voters by creating a special mechanism.
The embassy called on people who are harassed to document the cases of violence against them and call the 101 telephone number or email it to the Police for prosecution.
A spokesperson of the British metropolitan police reacted to the news about harassing the Iranian voters and noted that police are investigating the cases of violation.
Following the first round of the Iranian 14th presidential election, anti-Iranian elements supported by some US-backed terrorist groups including MKO, assaulted the Iranian citizens in the UK for going to the polls; to mention cases of harassment, the thugs cursed the people and pulled the scarf off Muslim women along with hateful slogans.
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in England emphasized that the ones who assaulted the Iranian voters should be held accountable in any way in the court for their barbaric behavior.
The first round of the Iranian 14th presidential election was held on Friday, June 28, 2024, and reached a run-off with Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili; the run-off will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024.
