Iran Press/Europe: According to Croatia's official TV, a shooter opened fire on Monday inside an elderly people's home, killing at least six people.
About 75 miles east of the capital Zagreb, in the village of Daruvar, a man brandishing a gun broke into a residential home for the elderly and started shooting at anyone within, according to Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). According to authorities, it was stated that six other persons were hurt in the shooting.
Reporters from Daruvar were informed by Croatian police head Nikola Milina that five of the deceased were inhabitants of the house and one was an employee, as HRT reported.
The suspect is reportedly a 51-year-old retired military policeman identified as K.P. who killed his mother, four other residents and an employee.
The suspect initially fled the scene, but the police later caught him in a cafe.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said his Deputy Davor Bozinovic, Health Minister Vili Beros, and Labor, Family Minister Marin Piletic will visit the scene.
