Iran, Greece underscore development of bilateral ties in scientific, cultural fields

Cultural consultant of Iran's embassy to Athens, Ali Mohammad Helmi met with Director-General of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, George Kalantzis to discuss strengthening scientific and cultural relations.

Iran PressEurope:  Ali Mohammad Helmi said that good cooperation has been done so far and one of the most important of them is the resumption of inter-religious talks and the continuation of friendly relations between Iranian Muslims and Greek Orthodox Christians.

He added: "The resumption of these talks, which had been suspended for years, shows the efforts and desire of both sides to develop Iran-Greece relations in the scientific and cultural fields."

Referring to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Helmi suggested that the preliminary meeting of this round of talks will be held in a webinar in the near future.

Praising the efforts made in recent years to continue talks between the two countries, the Director-General of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs of Greece also stressed the role of inter-religious talks and cooperation between religious leaders of Iran and Greece.
