Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has used all of its medical and healthcare capabilities amid the spread of coronavirus in different cities to help Iran's Health Ministry in fighting with coronavirus.
Chief Commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami said on Monday that the forces have deployed various resources to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
The new virus, that causes a respiratory disease known as COVID-19, emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei Province late last year. It has swept into at least 162 countries, infected more than 181,000 and killed at least 7,113 people worldwide, according to an estimate from Johns Hopkins University, which is tracking cases reported by the World Health Organization and additional sources.
In Iran, 4996 patients from all 14,991 infected patients, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 so far, have recovered and discharged from hospitals across the country.
