Tehran (IP) - Iran's Ministry of Health Spokesman said in his daily news conference on Saturday that a total of 4339 patients have recovered from COVID-19 disease, caused by the novel coronavirus, all across Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at a news conference on March 14, the Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said there have been 1365 new cases of Coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours across the country, as verified by official laboratories, bringing the total number of infections to 12729 cases.

The Spokesman for the Ministry of Health also reported the deaths of 97 people who had been infected with the disease over the past 24 hours.

So far, the total death toll in Iran reached 611 people.

The Coronavirus outbreak began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and appears to have been originated from non-domestic animals. Chinese officials now admit that the virus probably spread in Wuhan in November or even earlier. 

The COVID-19 viral disease that has swept into at least 149 countries, infected around 147,965 and killed 5,543 people is now officially a pandemic, according to the World Health Organization announcement on Wednesday, March 11.

The US administration has declared a national emergency over the coronavirus outbreak, the declaration comes amid criticism over the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic that has killed 41 people in the country.
