Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Javad Zarif in his latest tweet released on Thursday morning, January 23, admired the Chinese government in the fight against the new coronavirus-infected pneumonia epidemic, as a "timely" and "decisive" act.
Iran's top diplomat expressed hope that "all Chinese people will have a healthy and peaceful Spring Festival and wished the Chinese people a healthy year!"
"Regardless of adversity, Iran stands with the Chinese people", concluded Zarif.
Zarif's words came after a mysterious pneumonia outbreak struck dozens of people in China. It is said that this virus which has put China on edge is from the same family of viruses that cause deadly severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
According to the WHO, coronaviruses can infect both humans and animals. The coronavirus that causes SARS was traced to the civet cat, a wild animal considered a delicacy in parts of southern China, where the epidemic began.
