Iran Press/Iran news: Meeting with a group of people with disabilities in Tehran, President Rouhani said, "The United States wanted to bring the Iranian nation to its knee by imposing unprecedented sanctions, which they acknowledged were the most severe economic pressure."
Rouhani reiterated, "Despite the heavy economic pressures and unfair sanctions, the Iranian people have maintained their dignity and withstood the hardships and prevailed".
The president pointed to the US hidden efforts to negotiate with Iran, saying that the Iranian people's resistance has prompted them to negotiate by sending private messages. The EU as a go-between also knows this.
December 3 has been designated by the United Nations as World Disability Day
On the occasion of World Disability Day Rouhani also sent messages to Disables too.
President Hassan Rouhani in his message stressed that the government is attempting to prepare the proper ground for implementing the provisions of the Act of Supporting Disabled Persons’ Rights.
In the message that was read by Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare at a conference at the State Welfare Organisation on Monday, Rouhani stated, "The Government of Prudence and Hope has put supporting the disabled on its top priority.”
The President also stressed, "The government’s efforts in supporting the rights of persons with disabilities, empowering them and taking advantage of their capabilities will be effective only when it is backed by other branches of the state and institutions.”
“The esteemed members of the parliament and judiciary officials are expected to have a supportive approach and support the government and different institutions in realizing the provisions of acts related to disabled persons and provide the ground for their swift implementation as soon as possible,” Rouhani noted.
