About 100,000 refugees covers by Iranian insurance

An Iranian official said that 92,000 refugees in the country are covered by Iranian insurance to celebrate World Refugee Day.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Based on the latest data on the number of people insured, 92,000 refugees enjoy 100% of the Iranian insurance services," said Mahdi Mahmudi, Managing Director of the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs of Iran’s internal affairs ministry, Iran Press reported.

At the end of the conference, Mahdi Mahmudi and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Iran opened the exhibition that was held on the sidelines of the conference and visited the pavilions.

Earlier Iran’s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli  announced: "Issuing ID cards for all refugees to a number of about one million refugees, organizing literacy courses for more than one million refugees, promoting the level of refugees’ literacy, offering quality healthcare and medical services under the Health Reform Plan, etc. are of the notable achievements taken by Iranian government for refugees in the country."

Each year on June 20, the world celebrates International Refugee Day. 

The official noted that Iran has been trying to address the Afghan refugees' issues following the Islamic Revolution of 1979. 

The refugees, both legal and illegal in Iran, are covered by treatment and hospitalization services, rehabilitation, vaccination, hygiene, according to the official.
