Iran Press/Iran news: Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday pardoned or reduced the sentences of 1,117 inmates who were sentenced by various public and revolutionary courts.
The amnesty was given on the occasion of the Eid al-Mab'ath on Wednesday 3 April 2019, a festivity which celebrates the divine appointment of Prophet Mohammad (blessings of God upon him and his progeny) as the Holy Prophet of Islam.
According to an Iran Press report, the Leader's amnesty was granted upon a proposal by the Judiciary Chief, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi in line with Clause 11 under Article 110 of Iran's constitution. 105/211/201
