Tehran (IP) - In a phone conversation with Iran's Ambassador to Russia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister referred to his country's efforts in lifting unilateral sanctions against Iran and launching an anti-sanctions campaign, saying that Moscow would continue in this field.

Iran Press/Europe: Sergei Ryabkov noted that Moscow would support the expansion of cooperation between the two countries and establishing new formats like the BRICS Plus would be possible in this way.

Expressing his gratification for recent aid packages from Russia over the outbreak of coronavirus, Iran's Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said that the idea of Russia President in establishing a 'Green Corridor' was very important as there are unilateral sanctions from the US government.

Jalali also stressed the need for continuing efforts to lift sanctions against Iran through different formats like BRICS, saying "it is important to continue cooperation to stop unilateral measures that undermine the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)."

Both sides then discussed mutual, regional and international matters.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus in the World, international leaders from Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, and China have called for lifting unilateral and illegal US sanctions against Iran.

The sanctions include basic goods or even medical items that cause vast problems for Iranian people, especially coronavirus patients.
