Iran Press/Asia: Qasim Khan Suri made the remarks during a farewell meeting of Iranian Consul General in the southwestern city of Quetta, Mohammad Rafiei and members of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Saturday (QCCI).
Qasim Khan Suri expressing his views and said that Iran and Pakistan enjoy historical ties having deep roots in religion and culture.
In the meeting, Mohammad Rafiei said that historical, fraternal relations and religious and social commonalities between Iran and Pakistan have a great role in the development of relations between the two countries, and Tehran is determined to strengthen these relations in all areas.
During the meeting, it was decided to resolve the problems related to the blocking of the official border between the two countries due to the management of the Corona outbreak and highlighted that more than 1,800 commercial trucks both from Iran and Pakistan are waiting for the border opening.
In recent weeks, following the outbreak of the coronavirus in the world and in Iran, a large number of officials from various countries, including Turkey, Russia, Pakistan and China have called for the lifting of US unilateral and illegal sanctions against Iran.
Washington's unilateral, oppressive and inhuman sanctions, which include basic, necessary and even medical items, have caused many problems for the Iranian people, especially those infected with COVID-19 disease.
However, US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is opposed to lifting sanctions on Iran.
