Iran Press/ Africa: The unfair unilateral sanctions have not succeeded in affecting the brotherly ties between the two countries, Mustafa Tamouh thanked the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who headed a high-ranking delegation to Damascus recently.
Mustafa Tamouh said: "The last visit by the President of Iran is continuous support to Syria and it is not something new, we have some countries which did not leave Syria from day one of the war, and definitely Iran is the one leading these countries including Russia,"
He welcomed the return of Syria into the Arab League saying that this indicates that Iran has always been correct to stand with Syria.
"As a representative of the Syrian government here in Uganda, I am happy that Syria has returned to the Arab League. However, I have many points I notice for that group, they should think about the position of the Arab Union more, they should study more the decisions they arrive at after every meeting, what value they add to Arab countries, and which problems they have solved, "Honorary Consular of the Syrian Arab Republic to Uganda said.
"Unfortunately, Palestine for example is evidence that the Union has so far failed to help Arab countries," he said, adding that ongoing positive political dialogue between Damascus and Ankara could eventually succeed in improving strained ties between the two neighbors."
I expect some improvement in the relationship with Türkiye with the help of Russia and the high-level meeting which was in Moscow will be followed by the meeting of the two Presidents in the future,” the envoy added.
