Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Iraqi counterpart discussed the implementation of the Shalamcheh-Basra railway construction in a phone call on Tuesday.

Iran PressIran news: Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mehrdad Bazrpash and the Minister of Transport of Iraq Razak Muhibis Al-Saadawi discussed the implementation of the railway project and the actions of the Iraqi government in land possession along the railway line over the phone.

In this telephone conversation, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran pointed out the responsibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railway Company in following up on the construction of the Shalamcheh to Basra railway line and the responsibility of the CEO of the railway in daily and continuous follow-up and reporting of the actions taken.

Pursuing the issue of Arbaeen pilgrims to the holy shrines and the meeting of ministers in Baghdad, next week, were among the topics discussed by Iranian-Iraqi transportation ministers.

Next week, a conference will be held in Baghdad with the participation of the transport ministers of neighboring countries and members of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council which is hosted by the Iraqi government to boost economic cooperation.
