Tehran (IP)- The spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Iran Expo 2023 an important event for "Inflation control and growth in production".

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his weekly press conference, Nasser Kanani stated: "Everyone knows this year has been named the year of 'Inflation Control and Growth in Production' by the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution. So, the government must make the necessary efforts to realize the slogan and respond to the expectations of the people in the economic field.

He added: "Iran Expo 2023, which opened yesterday and will continue until May 10, is the fifth exhibition in which the export capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are displayed."An important mission has been assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the economic field, and we, together with the Ministry of Mining, Industry, and Trade, and the Development and Trade Organization of Iran, should play a serious role in organizing and successfully holding this exhibition," said the spokesman. 

According to the data released, the exhibition had a very good start and 750 Iranian export companies displayed their products. With the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, more than 1,200 businessmen from 65 countries participated in this exhibition," he said, adding: "In the event, medical equipment, petrochemical, food industry, agriculture, construction, steel, mines, etc. are displayed."

"Export is the engine of growth and this exhibition will hopefully be able to help Iranian companies in the global markets to earn more income," Kanani stated.

 

Saudi-Iranian agreement a prelude to increase trade

Expressing his hope about reopening of embassies, Nasser Kanani said that "there are no restrictions" on the travel of Iranian and Saudi citizens.

In response to the question about the request of Iranian businessmen, Kanani said that according to the implemented Iranian-Saudi agreements, we do not have any restrictions on the travel of the citizens, businessmen, and the possibility of issuing visas between two countries, so the same facilities are available for the economic activists of both countries.

In response to a question about the reopening of the embassies of Iran and Saudi Arabia, Kanani said: "Within the framework of the agreement between the two parties, we made good progress in the process of preparing diplomatic premises for the official activities of the embassies of the two countries, but due to the resumming of the relations, we are now in the final stage of preparing our embassies in Riyadh and Jeddah."

Expressing his hope to see the reopening of embassies, he noted: "Iran and Saudi Arabia are serious about this issue."

 

Iran seriously seeks to resolve misunderstanding with IAEA

The Spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Iran's serious policy is aimed at resolving problems and misunderstandings with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

His words came in response to a question about some reports regarding the installation of IAEA's new cameras.

Kanani said: "The policy is to ensure that issues related to Iran's peaceful nuclear activities do not turn to an obstacle."

He further pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran's measures are being carried out within the framework plan that was carried out during the IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi's trip to Tehran, and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran ( AEOI) will explain them  when the time is right.

Iran confirms expulsion of 4 Azerbaijani diplomats over non-constructive action

Kanani confirmed the expulsion of 4 Azerbaijani diplomats; an action which has been done against Azerbaijan's non-constructive measures.

The spokesperson of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained about the expulsion of four Azerbaijani diplomats, saying: "Iran has approved the action."

 

In response to a question about the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev's statements, Kanani stated: "We have always expressed our views on relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan quickly and clearly. The relations between the two nations are unbreakable, and we should not take any action that is against the two countries' interests and based on the interest of the parties that want to harm the Iran-Azerbaijan relations."

Kanani further emphasized:"We are willing to give diplomacy a chance, and we reiterate that the statements behind the podiums do not help to resolve them, and the dialogue between the two foreign ministers has defined executive steps and negotiation paths, and dialogues have also been conducted; Therefore, one-sided narratives do not indicate their correctness."

In response to a question about the documents signed with the countries, he said: "These documents serve as good initiative and define friendly partners and can guide the defined goals."
