Syria (IP) - Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology signed an agreement of cooperation with his Syrian counterpart.

Iran PressMiddle East: At the formal invitation of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Damascus on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, heading top political, cultural, and economic delegations. 

The Comprehensive Program of Strategic and Long-Term Cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic and 14 other cooperation documents were signed by the Presidents and high officials of the two countries.

 

The ICT memorandum of

understanding included cooperation in the export of technical services as well as passive and active telecommunication products in visual platforms, and electronic training.  

Still, providing smart government services, modernization of Syria's communication infrastructure, and space services, along with post, post-bank, and regulatory cooperation, are among the other items that the two sides agreed on.

A joint expert task force was supposed to be formed within the next two months in order to implement the agreements.
