Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran’s Culture Minister Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili on Wednesday announced his country’s readiness to sign a comprehensive memorandum of understanding with Mauritania on religious and cultural issues to help boost bilateral relations
The minister was hosting Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb who is in Tehran to attend the International Qur’an Exhibition.
In this meeting, Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili said that these meetings can strengthen the cultural and religious relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries of Iran and Mauritania, adding: "We hope that the presence of Mauritania in the international section of the Holy Quran Exhibition will be the source of various blessings for the expansion of cultural relations between the two countries."
The Mauritanian official, on his part, expressed hope that the two sides can sign a comprehensive MoU on cultural and religious affairs as soon as possible.
Earlier, in a meeting with Mauritania’s Minister of Islamic Affairs Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolalhian congratulated the African country’s government and people on the holy month of Ramadan. Amir-Abdollahian also thanked Mauritania for participating in the International Exhibition of the Holy Quran in Iran. 219
