Baghdad (IP) - The Iranian Ambassador to Iraq said that Iran is seeking the expansion of its cooperation with the neighboring country.

Iran PressMiddle East: Appreciating Iraq's key role in restoring ties between Iran ad some Arab countries, Mohammad Kazem Al Sadegh said that the two countries cooperate in trade, energy, and transportation and Iran seeks to increase cooperation in the cultural field.

"Among the West Asian region's countries, Iraq enjoys the most cultural and religious commonalities with Iran," he said. 

With regard to economic cooperation, the trade volume between Iraq and Iran reached around $9 million from March 21, 2022, to January 20, 2023. 

Iran's ambassador to Baghdad stated that the situation in Iraq is improving, the country is playing a significant role in the region, and that Iran is trying to establish peace and security through cooperation.
