Tehran (IP) - The closing ceremony of the 41st edition of the International Fajr Film Festival kicked off at Tehran’s Milad Tower on Friday for announcing the winners of Crystal Simorgh.

Iran PressIran news: The 41st edition of the International Fajr Film Festival or FIFF 2023, is the most prestigious cinematic event in Ira and announced its candidates for the top award called the Crystal Simorghon Friday.

The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili and Minister of Education and Training, Yousef Nouri participated in the closing ceremony with Iranian and foreign artists in attendance.

Nominees for the Crystal Simorgh in six different sections are as follows:

"In Embrace of Tree," "Smart Kid," "Cinema Metropol," "Muddy Room," "Number 10," "Leather Coat," and "Memorial of the South" are the films nominated for the Crystal Simorgh award. 

The Cinema of Salvation, Resistance, Muhammad Amin, and Eastern Vista, are the most competitive sections with all eying to know which movies will take home the Crystal Simorgh. 

The 41st Fajr international film festival was scheduled from February 1 to 11, 2023, in Tehran in two competitive and non-competitive sections.

International Fajr Film Festival is part of Iran’s Ten-Day Dawn celebration, which is organized annually to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Twenty-six movies by filmmakers from 25 countries were selected from 588 submissions to be showcased in the international competition of the festival.

The jury of the 41st Fajr International Film Festival comprised of Parviz Sheikh Tadi, Majid Esmaeili, Ebrahim Hatami Kia, Parviz Mohammad Razavi, Mohammad Taqi Fahim, Masoud Naqashzadeh and Mohammad Reza Sharifinia announced nominations on Friday (February 10, 2023).
