Event of February 8, 1979, effective prelude of Revolution Victory

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in a meeting with the commanders of the Air Force of the Army: "The Event of February 8, 1979, was an effective prelude for the victory of the movement and for the practical and real emergence of the revolution."

The Leader of the Revolution said in this meeting: "The incident of February 8, 1979, was an effective prelude for the victory of the movement, for the practical and real emergence of the revolution. This incident was not just that now a group of young people, for example, from the Air Force came to greet the important leader of the revolution that day. No, it was a move that had an effect on the victory of the revolution itself."

"Why? Because it made waves, the Leader said adding," This move created waves. The reason for its wave creation was its quick reflection. Two to three hours, three to four hours after this incident happened, Tehran's evening newspaper published a picture of the incident and suddenly the situation changed a lot. On the other hand, the people were encouraged, they felt that the army was not against them."

Iran's Army take people's side and stand in direction of the Revolution

Ayatollah Khamenei noted, "Because the only tool of the despicable and cruel Pahlavi regime was to suppress the people with the help of the army. People saw that no, the army is on their side, in the direction of the revolution. They got inspired. On the other side, morale was lost."

The Leader noted, "At the time of the February 8, 1979 incident, it was not clear what the outcome would be; it was possible that the cases would take another month or two which the members of the Air Force would be punished by the Pahlavi regime. These young men of the Air Force didn't know what was going to happen, they took risks, they showed courage and came to the scene for the sake of the revolution."

Iran's Army a clenched fist against aggressor on the first day of Revolution

"It showed that the military of the future is courageous for taking risks, leader said," And the military has been fairly taking risk over the years. These showed that the army is a clenched fist against the aggressor. Of course, the aggressors of that day were the American agents and the agents of the Pahlavi government. Later, other aggressors were found, and the army shielded against all of them."

"That image that was published in the newspapers from that day and everyone saw that image during these many years, the Imam, there, was the embodiment of power, the embodiment of honor, the embodiment of unshakable faith, which is completely visible, like a mountain, like the peak of Damavand, this Imam is there," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "This great man looks at these young men belonging to the army of the Shah era with dignity and authority. He looks at them with a kind and paternal look. That day, they were still part of the army, the Pahlavi army. Imam's look at these young people is paternal look, with complete compassion, with complete trust."

Iran's Leader added: "That day, not one person even imagined that there might be someone in this group who had a bad intentions, no, the Imam had complete trust, and complete confidence looked at them in a similar way, and talked to them. Well, this became a model of the new army, that is, it turned out that the new army will be formed like this."
